The
church was
named
Santa Maria del Mar,
and it
is a basilica that
resides
in the neighborhood of the Born in Barcelona.
It
is surrounded by nice and narrow streets with plenty of bars, shops
and museums such
as the
Picasso museum, which
is not too
far from
there.
I
went to this basilica
because there was a presentation
to
the public of
the giants and
their new clothes.
The
giants are an important and traditional element in Catalan
popular culture, and they
go dancing in
the streets during
festivities throughout
the year.
